Two teenagers, inheriting a world seething with hate, must be prepared to risk life and death for the sake of love. Shakespeare’s star-crossed lovers are reimagined in this contemporary adaptation, conceived by award winning director Timothy Wynn in tandem with the 2020 Technicolour Youth Ensemble.
Timothy is the Artistic Director and co-founder of THAT Production Company. In 2007 he graduated from the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York where he trained as an actors and then turned to directing and studied under Dr David Fenton as a part of JUTE Theatre Company’s Director Development program. Directing highlights include: Saved by Edward Bond (THAT Production Company), When The Rain Stops Falling by Andrew Bovell (Ipswich Festival/THAT Production Company), The Tuckshop Kid based on a book by Pat Flynn (Story Arts Festival/THAT Production Company) which he also adapted for the stage with Cassandra Ramsay, Cosi by Louis Nowra (Beenleigh Theatre Group) which was nominated for 7 Golden Palm Awards and won Best Supporting Actress and Magic Moment of Theatre, Yielding by Emma Workman (THAT Production Company) which was nominated for 3 Matilda Awards, Thread by Emma Workman (staged reading for La Boite HWY Festival), Kill Climate Deniers by David Finnigan (Metro Arts Local Program/THAT Production Company). In 2019 Timothy took on the position of Directorial Observer for Queensland Theatre’s 70th anniversary production of Death of a Salesman by Arthur Miller directed by Jason Klarwein.
